 Camp Friday
Camp Friday

Currently Camp Friday is not meeting. New information regarding updated dates will come in the future.

What is Camp Friday?
A ministry of MDUMC, Camp Friday is once-a-month Friday night fun primarily for children with special needs, their siblings and friends.

Where does Camp Friday meet?
Camp Friday meets in Room 223/224, which is in the Youth area of MDUMC's main campus. Check-in and out typically occurs just outside the doors of the Youth Lounge. Enter the Family Life Center by the double glass doors on the east side of the complex.

When is Camp Friday?
The hours are 6:30-10:00 p.m.

What activities are included?
Each Camp Friday is fun. Common activities include arts & crafts, play time in the gym or outside, cooking, music, games, free time, movies, etc. Children are welcome to bring their own favorite activities.

Are my child's needs too severe?
It's natural for all parents to wonder about their particular child's needs. While there certainly are limitations to what we as volunteers can do, please don't hesitate to ask about your child's needs. We want to minister to your family and will help if possible. If you have questions about your particular child's special needs, please feel free to contact the Director of Children's Ministries, Donna Reed, at 713-468-1973, Ext. 136.

How much does Camp Friday cost?
The cost for Camp Friday is $15 for one child and then $5 for each additional child per family. We realize that families with children with special needs can sometimes struggle financially. Should this fee pose a financial hardship for your family, please contact our Office of Children's Ministries for scholarship information.

How do I register and reserve dates for my child for Camp Friday?
Please note that registrations and reservations are asked for by noon on the Thursday preceding the Camp Friday date. After that time, we can't promise an opening for your child. The easiest way to register and to reserve a date  is to click on the registration online.  You only need register once.  Once you've registered, you may then reserve and pay for the desired dates. You may also register/reserve by calling 713-468-8356, Ext. 110.

Can I pick my child up early?
Of course you can! You are welcome to pick up your child at any time during the evening, especially if 10:00 p.m. is way past bedtime!

Who cares for the children?
Care is provided by a combination of mostly volunteers and some paid nursery workers. Some of our volunteers are part of MDUMC's special needs ministry and many of the volunteers have family members of their own who have significant special needs.
