TEE BALL, SOFTBALL, & BASEBALL
SPRING 2010
Baseball registration must be handled through the Family Life Center (FLC) of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, not through individual coaches. Our goal is to provide places for all who apply; however, church members and prior baseball participants will be given priority. We do NOT accept registration forms coming in as pre-formed teams, but you may request to be on a team with one or two close friends. See line on registration form marked “Requests”. Registration for church members is our first consideration. Regular Registration begins Sunday, January 24th and ends Sunday, February 21st 2010. Only completed registration forms will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to MDUMC. Late Registration will be from 2/22 through 2/28/10. Fee during Late Registration is $130.00.
PHILOSOPHY: We limit the size of our team rosters in order to provide a quality experience for our players. Our program is designed to teach sportsmanship, self-reliance and teamwork in a Christian setting. Emphasis is placed on practice and participation, with each player playing as much as possible. Our teams are a part of the West Houston Christian Sports Association (WHCSA).
PARTICIPATION: All boys and girls in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade are eligible to play. Pre-K &/or Kindergarten teams may be Coed, all boys or all girls. Please be aware that your child may need to be on a Coed Pre-K, or K, team if necessary.
GAMES AND PRACTICES: Each team practices once, or twice, a week after school. Formal Practices will begin on March 8, 2010. Team equipment will be distributed beginning March 1, 2010. NO TEAM EQUIPMENT WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BEFORE THIS DATE.
Games will be played on Saturdays with the possibility of some Sunday afternoon games. Games will begin on March 27, 2010. Games will conclude on May 15, 2010.
FEE: The fee is $105.00 per player for Regular Registration. Late Registration fee is $ 130.00. PLEASE NOTE: We offer a Sibling Discount as follows – Pay full price for 1st child and ½ price for every other child registered from the same family. This includes league fees, uniform shirt & cap, equipment, team picture, and trophy. After teams have been formed, there will be a $15.00 administrative charge for those who then choose not to play and want a refund. There will be no refund after the season begins. Limited scholarships are available. For this, or any other information, please contact Kim Kennedy in the Family Life Center (713-468-8356 ext 156). All fees must be paid at the time of registration unless other arrangements have been made. Checks should be made payable to MDUMC. There will be a $25 fee for any returned checks.
